This hearty and tasty chili will take you to the Southwest with its strong flavors. Smith and Blessings has a tasty Tuesday treat that will warm your heart. It is full of protein and bright spices.
Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can 15 oz black beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 can 15 oz kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 can 15 oz corn, drained
- 1 can 14 oz diced tomatoes
- 1 can 8 oz tomato sauce
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chopped fresh cilantro for garnish
- Shredded cheddar cheese for topping
- Sour cream for serving
Instructions:
In a large pot, brown the ground beef over medium heat
Add diced onions and minced garlic, saut until onions are translucent
Stir in black beans, kidney beans, corn, diced tomatoes, and tomato sauce
Pour in beef broth and add chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper
Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally
Adjust seasoning to taste
Serve the Southwestern Chili hot, garnished with chopped cilantro, shredded cheddar cheese, and a dollop of sour cream
